Would You Rather…???

June 9, 07

A beautiful group of Sr. High youth gathered in our cabin. We began with a few rounds of games & then The Ice Breaker of The Century Would You Rather???…
Would you rather have a Rhino’s Horn Permanantly attached to your Forehead or Large Duck Feet?

So began our Senior High Camp Adventure.
Dave (Shainy) & I led the first discussion on Ephesians 5. What defines us as Christians? What sets us apart from others? Then we were reminded that Christ loved in actions & in truth. Christ could’ve just said, “I love you.” But instead He washed their feet. Christ puts us in uncomfortable situations to allow us to spread the Kingdom of Heaven.

What did God Have in Mind when He Made YOU?

That was the topic for the girls the next day.
What do you need to do differently in your life for God to fully use you? The story of Queen Esther brought it all home for the girls as we looked at what God had to say in the book of Esther:
14 “For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place and you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows whether you have not attained royalty for such a time as this?

The girls brainstormed about the gifts, skills, & abilities God had uniquely given them & how God may use them. All of these things must be viewed through the servanthood of Christ as noted in

Philippians 2 “3Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves;
4 do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.
5 Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus,
6 who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped,
7 but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men.
8Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.”

We had a fabulous time at camp & God really worked in the hearts of all of us.
More to come later, but for now…Would You Rather be saved by Superman, or meet Winnie the Pooh? (the girls were unanimous about the Pooh & Duck Feet!)
