Building Bridges through Bat Mitzvah

From the Ends of the Earth…

After reading about 2 Congolese families that sought refuge here in St. Louis, Mariel decided that for her Bat Mitzvah she would help.

Great Idea!

The Congolese happen to be members of our church at New City Fellowship, so we went to the Congolese’ house & had a wonderful afternoon.

“Getting to Know Yooooou… Getting to knoooow all aboooout yooooooou!”

Mariel with her mom Lynn & 5 of the Congolese youth that are in our church, with me!

It was an enlightening time to understand more about Congolese life, Christianity, & Judaism. This was fabulous, especially since we have been studying Jewish history & the Torah in our Youth Group. Amazing how God brings people together! Lynn’s grandmother was a refugee from Poland, so the families have some things in common. “Coming to America!” And I came all the way from Alabama : )

Isaiah 43:6

“I will say to the north, Give up,and to the south, Do not withhold;

bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the end of the earth,”
